If I had to write a “What I Did Over Christmas Break” essay, I would probably leave out the part about spending Christmas night at a bar with my friends. I would, however, include the part about some of the sweet new music that I am working on. If you would like to hear a sample, you can do so at myspace.com/patblairmusic. It is rough, but I am really digging the song (you can read more about it, if you so desire, on my music blog.
Whilst visiting, please also take note of my upcoming solo gig at the Bali Satay House on Thursday, January 12th. I would love to see you there, and we could do some beautiful (or at least mediocre-but-loud) singing together.

Pat Blair Music Press Release - 15 December 2005
Now available at myspace.com/patblairmusic… a very special rendition of the classic carol, Away in a Manger. Pat Blair, who arranged, played, recorded, mixed, mastered, produced, the song had the following to say:
“Away in a Manger is a timeless classic, and I absolutely love this arrangement. In fact, that’s the only reason that we chose to make it available for a limited time. The recording was all a one-take deal, the singing is wretched, even the guitaring is mediocre. No one in their right mind would publish something this shoddy - that’s how much I believe in this arrangement. So try to overlook all the crappiness, and, instead, enjoy this song as a Christmas gift from me to you.”
This song will only be available for a limited time, so go now to myspace.com/patblairmusic. Also, don’t forget to sign up as one of Pat’s friends!

20 Random WinAmp v2.91 Songs
By way of Matt (via Noel)…
“Hit random on iTunes and print the first 20 songs without editing out anything embarrassing.”
I, of course, find iTunes to be an incredibly big/slow/obnoxious/inferior program, especially for PC, and don’t like the way it categorizes/stores/labels my music, so I use the far older, far quicker, and far cooler WinAmp version 2.91, circa 2003. Since I have nearly completed the massive project of ripping all of my CDs, I thought this would be a good way to celebrate.

A little heavy on the high-school punk and ska days, but this, in fact, makes me look much more diverse and culturally enlightened than I really am. Sweet!
